Elaine graduated from the University of Sydney in 2008 and has worked in private practice as well as the public hospital system. Her keen interest in addressing sports injuries had her working with GPS Rugby, Sydney Half-Marathon, City-2-Surf and Hockey NSW among other sporting events she has covered. Elaine was also the team physiotherapist for Judo Queensland and Judo Federation Australia while she completed her Masters in Sports Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland in 2015. In 2018, she worked with the Chinese Olympic Committee to provide physiotherapy services for their national teams and spent time in China with their elite combat sport and canoeing athletes, working alongside other foreign coaches to manage their training and rehabilitation programs in preparation for the Olympic Games. In the same year, she was also involved in covering various events in the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

Elaine uses a wide range of techniques in her treatment, including dry needling, strapping, manual therapy and evidence-based exercise prescription to minimise down-time while rehabilitating injuries.
